Things get underway at 6:00 pm with complimentary pizza provided and an opportunity to network with other program attendees. The evening’s presentation begins at 6:30 pm followed by a questions and answers session.
David Bretting, President & CEO of C.G. Bretting Manufacturing Company, Inc., is the evening’s featured speaker. The company is celebrating its 125th year in operation and was recently recognized as the Business of the Year for 2015 by the Ashland Area Development Corporation. David will discuss how this iconic family business started, grew and prospered over its 125 year history.
From its humble beginning back to 1890 when Christopher George Bretting purchased the Parish Iron Works, the company has gone through many changes and now designs, manufactures, sells and services its paper tissue converting equipment all over North America and around the globe. More than half of the company’s business now occurs overseas where its machines can be found in 54 countries. In addition, C.G. Bretting Manufacturing does customized contract machining and assembling for markets throughout the Midwest. The firm has a major economic impact on the Ashland area, employing around 440 employees in the city.
Also, this year a fifth generation of family members joined the business that now includes mechanical engineers Ricky and Shawn Bretting, who join Paul Bretting the firm’s COO along with President & CEO David Bretting. The company has been successful over time by remaining true to its focus on the customer and offering quality products in an ever changing marketplace.
